Our watches

Currently we have one series of watches – Viennese California Dial (VCD). A California dial is a dial that combines Arabic and Roman numerals.

The main distinction of our watches is the dial, which includes the world-first innovation of the watch crown visually forming part of the 8 o’clock index - the CrownIndex as we call it.

Initial idea

So, is it difficult to read the time? Of course not – see for yourself!

It’s quarter to six, right? The indices may be at unusual positions, but in everyday use the arm and the watch strap serve as visual reference points for reading the time.

Still, we like to joke that our watches feature Artificial Intelligence Enhancers – other people will think that you must be smart to read the time.

So yes: our watch will Artificially Enhance their opinion of your Intelligence.

We offer automatic mechanical and quartz versions, with white and black dial variants.

Watch models

Psst, do you love Vienna?

We have an off-menu double shot Melange option – a Viennese edition of the white mechanical model, featuring red date numbers and a shout-out to the Wiener Schmäh, the local sense of humor and irony.

To order, select the white mechanical model and we will confirm this with you before shipment. Not the most purchase-friendly setup, but hey, absolutely friction-free shopping is not what Vienna stands for.😊

The watches have a case diameter of 41.4 mm, but look and wear smaller – we have female customers with wrist sizes as small as 13.5 cm.

This comes from the elegant, gently elliptical side profile and downward-curving lugs, which help the case sit closer to the wrist.

Also notice the crown shape: it allows easy operation despite being partly protected by the case.

Double the heritage, half the text

Which one is for you?

Briefly, if you generally prefer mechanical watches, then of course our mechanical model should be your default choice. But if cost is an issue, rest assured that the quartz version is a solid alternative, with the same design and mostly the same quality components.

If you don’t particularly care, or are not even sure about the difference between quartz and mechanical, then the quartz model could be your default choice. Check whether the additional features, such as the date and the reminder function, as well as the extra appreciation from watch enthusiasts, are worth the higher price for you.

Manufacturing and provenance details

We use Cattin Watch from Switzerland as our production partner. The decades-long experience of Guy Cattin and his team, together with that of their long-term Asian parts suppliers, results in watches of rock-solid quality.

The mechanical models qualify as Swiss Made overall: the technical design and assembly are done in Switzerland, using Swiss Made Sellita movements and other parts produced by Cattin Watch suppliers in China.

The quartz models are China-made overall, using Thai-made Ronda Swiss Parts movements and other parts produced by Cattin Watch suppliers in China.

We use straps from Hirsch in Austria and steel mesh bracelets from Staib in Germany, both leaders in their fields. Some straps and bracelets are made in the suppliers’ home countries; others are made in Asia.

Last but not least...

Silky steel mesh

Duke calf leather

Straps. Lots of them.

We are especially proud to offer more than 100 different strap models from Hirsch and five steel mesh (Milanese) bracelet models from Staib – both among the global leaders in their product areas.

Most of them, where possible, are co-branded with our logo. Almost all of the Hirsch straps are quick release, as is the standard silver mesh bracelet, meaning they can be put on and taken off in a few seconds without any tools.

We offer both leather and leather-free straps in different colors, textures and shapes. Some come with Hirsch’s innovative rubber undersides, improving breathability and durability in hot weather and during physical activity.

The selection includes what are likely the only leather straps on the market in the Austrian flag’s red-white-red colors, custom-made for us by Hirsch.

A strong impression or neutral gray? Both, with Arne – with the top made from recycled PET plastic.

Leaf: made with real ones.

Sturdy steel mesh from Staib. Four millimeters of German steel.

Black leather style, backed by primary colors. No wonder Ayrton is one of our bestsellers.

Stylish coziness with Osiris Nubuck.

Lindsey: high-energy casual.

Carbon and Rally are customer favorites. Modena and James should be too.

Red-white-red leather straps, only from us.

Almost no other brand offers such variety because it makes little logistical sense and, at the strap level, is hard to justify financially. But we do it because it helps our customers find one or two ideal straps, without having to get third-party straps.

We currently show just a subset of the straps as catalog variants, so please contact us if you can’t find anything that suits your taste. Mixing and matching different strap halves – for example, red and yellow – is possible for some models for an additional fee.
